This notice is to inform persons about a class action lawsuit captioned Brieanne Pearson v. Camden County, New Jersey et al., Docket No. CAM-L-2715-19, which was filed in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Camden County (the “Action”), on behalf of all persons or entities who paid a convenience or submission fee between August 15, 2016 and April 1, 2019 when they electronically recorded a document in Camden County via the e-Recording Portal. The complaint alleged that these fees were impermissible under New Jersey law. Defendants deny any wrongdoing and deny the claims and allegations asserted by the Plaintiff. The parties nevertheless have agreed to settle the Action. The proposed Settlement requires Defendants to establish a Common Fund of $250,000. members of the Settlement Class automatically receive from the Common Fund a pro rata refund of any and all convenience or submission fee paid by each class member, without the need to submit a claim form.
