Summary of Case and Settlement: DeNittis Osefchen, P.C. has obtained preliminary approval of a settlement in a class action against Weichert South Jersey, Inc. d/b/a Weichert Realtors (“Weichert”) in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Burlington County, alleging that Weichert collected fraudulent Administrative Fees (junjk fees) at real estate closings from consumers that were in violation of New Jersey consumer Fraud Act . Weichert denied the allegations, but was in agreement to resolve the case. Under the terms of the settlement, all class members from whom fees were collected are eligible to receive a partial refund.
On May 2, 2011, the Honorable Karen L. Suter of the Superior Court of New Jersey, Burlington County, entered an order granting preliminary approval of the settlement of this Weichert class action lawsuit. All claims must be submitted to the claims administrator set forth on the claim form on or before September 2, 2011.
