On Thursday February 10, 2022, DOP’s managing partner Stephen DeNittis, Esq. was asked by the New Jersey Association of Justice (NJAJ) to provide his expertise on proposed consumer protection legislation in New Jersey and to provide input before the New Jersey Senate Commerce Committee regarding the implication passing these law may have on the public. Specifically, Mr. DeNittis reviewed and provided suggest edits on behalf of NJAJ to Senate Bill S-901 addressing the New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act, Senate Bill S-902 concerning the New Jersey Service Contract Act and the Senate Bill-S 891 an Act concerning Tax Preparers refund anticipation loan practices. Mr. DeNittis was specifically asked to insure consumers in New Jersey continue to be protected by the goals of each of the aforementioned laws. Mr. DeNittis was honored to be considered to provide guidance on such critical consumer legislation
