In 1998, Mr. DeNittis recovered $4.25 million for a man injured on a motorcycle that was rear ended initially from a van. Once taken to Cooper Medical Center, doctors allegedly missed a bowel injury despite being identifiable on CAT scans. The bowel injury eventually caused Mr. Medeiros to develop sepsis causing him to go into respiratory arrest then cardiac arrest.
