Shane Prince is a named shareholder at DeNittis Osefchen Prince.ย Mr. Prince has more than 20 years of experience representing and advising both plaintiffs and defendants in a variety of complex civil litigation matters in both federal and state courts, including consumer fraud and medical monitoring class actions, product liability/mass tort litigations, and individual cases involving personal injury, product liability, and contract disputes. He has extensive expertise litigating every phase of a caseโs life cycle from initiation to resolution.
Since joining the firm in 2013, Shane Prince has focused his practice primarily on representing consumers in class action litigations.ย He has successfully participated in well over 75 certified class actions, comprised of millions of consumers, and has recovered tens of millions of dollars for victims of corporate fraud.ย Representative matters include*:

- Sewekow v. Burlington Coat Factory, No. CAM-L-2582-17 (N.J. Super. Ct. Camden Cnty.) โ New Jersey false pricing/consumer fraud class action that resolved via settlement valued at $9.6 million on behalf of 1 million consumers.
- Spector v. TD Bank, No. 16-2682 (D.N.J.) โ New Jersey consumer fraud class action that resolved via settlement valued at $9.4 million on behalf of 3 million consumers.

Prior to joining the firm, Shane Prince spent 11 years as a litigation attorney at a prominent global law firm in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.ย There, his defense-oriented practice focused on managing complex litigation to expedient and efficient resolution. Specific experiences include:
- Managing multiple coordinated product liability/mass tort litigations, each with 10,000+ plaintiffs, for global and national pharmaceutical and nutraceutical companies from pre-consolidation to dissolution in both federal and state courts, including New Jersey and Pennsylvania
- As national counsel, defending related cases pending simultaneously in numerous courts across the country; developing uniform litigation strategies for cases; and supervising local counsel in all fifty states to ensure consistent execution of strategies
- Initiating and administering affirmative case-specific discovery programs, including โPlaintiff Fact Sheet,โ โLone Pine,โ and case-specific deposition programs resulting in the dismissal of thousands of cases; training and supervising teams of attorneys responsible for executing programs
- Advising clients on confidentiality and privilege issues related to the retention and production of documents and electronically stored information; member of a multi-firm โtask forceโ established to defend a client against discovery-related sanctions
- Conducting internal audits/investigations of clients to evaluate statutory and regulatory compliance
- Representing clients in various alternative dispute resolution procedures, including mediations and arbitrations
- Negotiating and administering settlements of numerous complex cases
Shane Prince also has experience taking and defending discovery and trial depositions of fact and medical witnesses, drafting and arguing discovery and dispositive motions, and negotiating various case management and pretrial orders. Additionally, he has prepared numerous cases for trial in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and other jurisdictions, and he has second-chair trial experience.
Shane Prince earned his Juris Doctor degree with high honors in 2002 from Rutgers School of Law โ Camden, where he was an Articles Editor for theย Rutgers Law Journalย law review, a Deanโs Merit Scholar, and a Teaching Assistant for Legal Research and Writing/Moot Court. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in History with a minor in Political Science,ย summa cum laude, in 1999 from Pensacola Christian College in Pensacola, Florida.
Shane Prince is a member of the New Jersey and Pennsylvania bars.ย He is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.
Born and raised on a cattle farm near Ashland, Kentucky, Shane Prince moved to New Jersey in 1999 to attend Rutgers Law School.ย It was at Rutgers Law where he met his wife Melissa, and they decided to make New Jersey their permanent home.ย Shane currently resides in Lumberton, New Jersey with his wife and three daughters.ย Aside from work, Mr. Prince is a skilled woodworker, an avid skier and outdoorsman, a devoted father, an unabashed DIYโer, and a lover of all things music.ย He has frequently โ albeit possibly sarcastically โ been described as a modern โrenaissance man.โย He also enjoys coaching his daughters in softball, basketball, and soccer and spending every available weekend at the Jersey shore.
